Rules for eating out

This is all common sense. And so is the fact that I want to punch this winey little twerp in the face. Go get my pork chops and stop crying.

The post came from ragingserver.com. originally. A guy named John from epicportions.com DID NOT WRITE IT! Everyone happy?

F*ck Yeah Cilantro

Here is a cool site devoted to delicious cilantro.

Wednesday

I took the mountain bike out yesterday.

I was a little rusty at first. Then I got back into it.

It's coming up

Every year we come together at Lincoln Cemetery in Blue Hills, Missouri to celebrate the life of Charlie Parker.

Tuesday

Why ask why?

The L.A. Times tries to figure out why the internet loves bacon.

"I said bacon in my tweet and now denny's is following me," wrote the Twitter user who goes by the name DJ Divine.

It's hard to believe that @DennysGrandSlam is following every person who mentions bacon. But the number of users the account is following is indeed growing quite rapidly.

Best New Chefs '09

Food and Wine Announces the best of 2009.

I like Vinny Dotolo and Jon Shook. Bad-asses!

“When we were 22, 23, we went to see our accountant, and he told us we’d spent $150,000 that year on dining,”

My kind of guys.

And at Yankee's Stadium......

Hate the Yanks..... love the food. Slashfood has some pics. Damn those Yankee's!

Kauffman Stadium renovates its food?

I'll be the judge of that! Pot roast sliders huh? Yick. I've posted about ballpark food on here before. I don't think we will ever offer the variety of food in other parks. Check it out.

Thursday

Subscribe to food? You bet your boots.

We all should do this.

"Community Supported Agriculture started more than a decade ago as a grassroots movement to eat locally. Today the movement continues to grow to serve consumers across the metro area."

It's meat bracket time!

My new favorite "food dude" Owen Morris, from the Pitch, posted this "choice" article about meat brackets. Meat vs. Meat. Everyone wins.

So Good blog has "Meat Madness".

ESPN and New York Times contributor Paul Lukas revealed his 64-meat match-up.

Lukas' bracket is here. His final four is whack! Bratwust and hotdogs beat out salami and italian sausage? I don't think so pal. And WTF Is a chicken tail?

I love these quotes from his article.

"Sorry fancy pants, but the filet is like the Knicks -- mushy and expensive."

"If you don't like sausage then you probably don't like America or freedom either."

"... and on the eighth day, God created salami."

Great job Owen.

Wednesday

Cured meats.... I love you.

This place is just insane. I'll take two of everything. It's run by Mario Batali's folks and they don't mess around when it comes to curing the meat. Why can't someone open a place like this in KC?

Wednesday

Twitter + Kogi = One hot taco

How social media helped a Korean taco truck become famous.

"Kogi and social media cannot be separated."

Check out some of the stuff McDonald's serves around the globe.

"Location: Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, and Indonesia

Michael Pollan Wants Your Food Rules

"Writer Michael Pollan, author of the best-seller “In Defense of Food,” has gained a passionate following by encouraging us to change the way we think about food. But for his next project, he wants your help."

I like this food rule, “Don’t eat at any restaurant of which there is more than just one” .

Stay away Ray.

I guess our 3 local Chefs that are up for James Beard Awards couldn't catch Rachel's eye.

I really dig this Leftover section in the pitch. Congratulations Owen Morris.

Thursday

Where do the local chefs eat?

Here is a telling article revealing places local chefs prefer to eat. Notice most of the places they like are locally owned. Good stuff. Get out and support these local restaurants!

Lost In A Sushi Moment

The effect of sending the camera around a Tokyo sushi restaurant via the conveyor, coupled with the music on this video, is quite a beautiful thing.

Dennis Wheatley and Stefan McClean were sitting in a Tokyo sushi bar when they had an idea to make this impromptu film:

Fast food from around the world

This explains a lot:

Finland

"Sausage is the basic Finnish fast food. According to a saying ‘A Finn is never too full not to eat a bit more sausage’."

F*** My Life

Think you got it bad? Post about it here. Some of these posts are real bad.

Today, as I was bringing my 3 year old daughter back from daycare, she asked me where her dad was. I tried to explain that I was her father, but she answered "Not you, my other Daddy!". I've got some talking to do tonight... FML
